I apologise for the low level of blogging activity here recently. As I mentioned a few months ago, I plan to retire this year, sell the family homestead, and move to the Far East of the country. As the time to put our house on the market approaches, the StatWife and I are increasingly busy with, among other things, sorting through a decade's worth of accumulated stuff, deciding what to keep, what to sell/give away, and what to throw out. Much of the latter is made up of copious papers and periodicals stored in my home office—stacked on shelves, filed in boxes, and piled on the floor.
Doing those necessary and time-consuming jobs is the main reason for the paucity of posts, and it looks like blogging will continue to be sparse for about the next three weeks. There are many news stories and events I’d like to blog, but the tasks at hand are essential. (I’m sure God’s kingdom will continue to unfold regardless.)
This Saturday evening, God willing, we will fly into Halifax and then drive to a B&B in Windsor, where we will encamp for two weeks while reconnoitring the Eastern Annapolis Valley for a suitable property to retire to. We haven't yet decided whether we should buy an existing house or arrange to have a new home built, so all options are open.
We are also looking forward to enjoying the company of Nova Scotia friends that I met through blogging. I trust they'll still be friends after spending face time with me.
My last day in the office is not yet fixed, but it will fall sometime in the first half of August. The exact date should become known in mid-June; in the meantime, this counter is set for 15 August.

Richard Warman litigates again…
Fortunately, I can take a break this evening from whining sprucing up my house in order to blog.
