I sent a concerned e-mail to my Alberta Premier a few weeks ago lamenting the disturbing trend of Human Rights Commissions limiting free speech in this country. Two high profile cases recently hit the Alberta Human Rights Commission -- Ezra Levant of the Western Standard (and whose video posted on his website on the interrogation by the commission is a real eye opener) and Catholic Insight magazine, who is being investigated for simply proclaiming what the church believes. As expected I received a very politically correct 2 page letter on how terrific the human rights commissions are and how well things are working. Written by some professional letter writer no doubt. The sad fact is that the Alberta Conservative Party was until recently a real pro-family, pro-life and pro- free speech party. No more. In two weeks we will be voting in the provincial election and I for one cannot in conscience vote for the conservative party.
