Suzuki just visited us in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
He just insulted our newly elected Premier of Alberta, called our oil sands development “crazy” and spouted his histerical global warming rant to young students at a local school.
He will eventually insult everybody on the planet.

Suzuki is a moron and not worthy of entering our country agaion. Just because our Prime Minister is a moron doesn’t mean the entire country is. Not all of us voted for him and far from all of us agree with his environmental position. And besides, how the hell would any of those people paying to see HIM talk have known that was “farmed salmon”? I’m 16 and I can confidently call him a childish idiot.

Not my reporting, actually. I just quoted the Herald Sun, “Australia’s biggest selling daily newspaper”.

“Refreshing” you may have found Suzuki’s tirade, but it was not very productive for winning the Australian public over to his view. Insulting your guests is generally not a wise strategy.

Everyone has “concern for our future”. Persuading the electorate to implement one’s preferred policies via the democratic process is rather more demanding than sloganeering, however.

I watched David Suzuki’s press club address on TV. Your reporting of it makes him sound like a crazy madman, but if he showed anger it was the kind of justified frustration we should all be feeling at our politicians for not doing enough to keep our environment livable for us and our children. It was refreshing to hear David Suzuki speaking the plain truth and being forward about what we need to do to ensure a sustainable future. Concern for our future is a trait that you should find admirable, not one you should debase.
