A dusty copy of the Third Reich Bible has been discovered in the offices of a Hamburg church. The Nazi Bible was produced by order of Adolph Hitler, who wanted the Christian Bible redacted to reflect his racial beliefs. As one would expect, according to Hitler's version, Jesus was not Jewish; in fact, Jewish people and traditions hardly appear at all.
He appointed professors to work on the Nazi version and remove all references to Jews and compassion.
But more important for Hitler was the eradication of Jewish words, including Hallelujah, Jehovah and even Jerusalem, which became "the eternal city of God".
Hitler, in a memo, said: "The book will have to serve the fight against the immortal Jewish enemy."
Hitler's authorised Bible had a total of twelve commandments. Only a few bear any resemblance to the ten found in the Old Testament.
1. Honor God and believe in him wholeheartedly
2. Seek out the peace of God
3. Avoid all hypocrisy
4. Holy is your health and life
5. Holy is your well-being and honor
6. Holy is your truth and fidelity
7. Honor your father and mother – your children are your aid and your example
8. Keep the blood pure and your honor holy
9. Maintain and multiply the heritage of your forefathers
10. Be ready to help and forgive
11. Honor your Fuhrer and master
12. Joyously serve the people with work and sacrifice.
Hitler's 10th commandment enjoins forgiveness. What a cruel joke!
Israeli news service YnetNews comments:
Needless to say, the heads of the Nazi regime didn't bother to abide by any of these commandments. Hitler himself despised Christianity and deported several of the Churches' leaders to concentration camps.
Although about 100,000 copies of Hitler's version were printed and sent to German churches, German Christians weren’t interested: they destroyed most of the copies.
