The Dean of Lincoln Cathedral, the Very Rev Alec Knight, is allowing the cathedral to be used as a location in the film version of The Da Vinci Code, despite his opinion that the novel is "a load of old tosh".
A nun named Sister Mary Michael led a protest by a small group of nuns outside the cathedral. "I just don't think it is right that they are filming this story here. I know the bishop and dean argue it is fiction - and it might even be brilliant fiction - but it is against the very essence of what we believe." Sister Mary seems to take seriously what is at stake here.
Rev Knight agreed to allow the film makers use of the cathedral because they paid big bucks for its use. Talk about trying to serve both God and Mammon.
